I've used the Discipleship Explored Course before and after the launch of the DVD and, in both formats, I thoroughly recommend the course.

The homework is excellent but, to do it justice, we struggle to get everything into the hour-and-a-half (not counting a "social" time at the start). We've adapted to inserting about 2-3 extra sessions into the course over and above the 8 weeks. It could be handled in the 8 weeks but, such is the feedback from the homework, that it would be losing something to do so.

All in all, I am delighted with the way it has helpednew and not so new Christians learn about the truth of dicipleship.

The insight gained by carefully analysing the questions and applying God's word to answer them was remarkable.
To meditate on the selected scriptures in "the week ahead" in response to the questions posed was enlightening and taxing. These mini-studies made the book / course into a larger study than the 1 day a week nibble I had at first imagined.
I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting to commit the rest of their life to Jesus and to serve Him as Lord and Master.

This is a helpful study guide that goes through some of the fundamentals of discipleship for young christians, using the book of Philippians as its basis. Accompanied by the leaders guide the talks are mostly helpful with good illustrations of sometimes difficult lessons. We found the questions are not ALWAYS condusive to good discussion, as some seem rather too vague, but again on the whole this will be a valuable tool for an older christian to use in the vital role of leading young christians on in their faith.
