Discipleship Explored Study Guide

Very good

 Discipleship Explored is just what we were looking for to inspire the whole church to wholehearted commitment to the Lord. Young and old have come out to the course sessions and we are hoping and praying that the results will be lives lived for God.

 Concise and well presented. 

Excellent

 The material was excellent...it was, as expected, thoroughly biblical and was very useful for prompting discussion.
The only reservation I would have was the weekly studies. Bearing in mind that the course is primarily aimed at new believers, I found the amount of study very demanding and at times slighly too deep. I would have prefered less. 

Not ideal

 We're trying to use the Discipleship Explored material with youth as there currently isn't a youth-oriented follow up to Christianity Explored. It's just not ideal, the DVD is a bit of a let down (agree Rico would have been a more engaging presenter), very sombre and bleak considering the exciting subject matter and we're having to put in quite a lot of work to bring out relevant application as the questions just don't stimulate discussion. Perhaps if we were using it with an adult focus we have found it better but it's not really working for us. 

Good interactive course

 We are running the "discipleship Explored" course in our church and have been impressed by the clear good teaching combined with excellent study guides and relevant Bible readings with appropriate questions. 

Excellent aid to study

 We are halfway through the course and using the study guides in conjunction with the DVD's have enabled our folk to fully particpate in the group discussion times. The questions are thought provoking and not only encourage delving into and study of the Word of God but also challenge each participant to review their own commitment to discipleship. An excellent course! 

Stretches a Christian

 This course is extremely good at strecting a Christian in their knowledge and understanding of God's word. A very good study of Philippians and thoroughly enjoyable. 

Challenging and Christ-Centred

 It is great to study Philippians as a Discipleship course. The result is a series of studies that are Christ-centred and rightly focused discipleship on Him. The guide is clear, helpful and well laid out. Some of the material seems a bit repetitive and the questions rather laboured at times so that didn't always prompt free flowing discussion. My group of new Christians had many questions about the Christian life that didn't naturally flow out of these studies - Questions on the Church, the Sacraments, prayer, relationships, conduct and so on. Sometimes these topics arose from the weekly readings but not always naturally from the studies or talks. Overall an excellent guide and framework that can be adapted to suit a particular group.

 Having reached lesson 7, we are full of praise for this course. It is very well thought out - indeed obviously inspired - and just hits the nail on the head for our needs. We were thrilled in a comment the other day from one following it. "It makes Bible reading almost addictive!!" Full marks to everyone concerned! And full marks to God our heavenly Father (if one can say that..?) for such a fabulous plan of redemption! Thank you Discipleship Explored team for helping us see it more clearly.
