We should watch the "Righteousness in Christ" episode at least once a year because it encapsulates the truth of justification so well and applies it so powerfully.

Pastor, author & conference speaker

Discipleship Explored has always been a valuable tool for helping Christians understand what it means to follow Christ. But with this new series of films, along with the accompanying leader’s and guest Handbooks, it reaches another level of excellence. The films are a pleasure to watch; Thabiti Anyabwile conveys the meaning of Philippians as he reads it for us, section by section; and Barry Cooper excels as an engaging guide to help us understand Paul’s Letter to the Philippians and apply it to our lives today. And all this comes with a wonderfully international flavour to both the locations used and the Christians who make cameo appearances. If, after using Discipleship Explored, you don’t love Philippians and want to grow more like Christ, you may be spiritually brain dead. The only downside is that it may make you impatient for this team to do the rest of the New Testament!

“Inspiring talks”

We are using Discipleship Explored with a group of International University Students. We are being challenged and humbled by this study in the book of Philippians. The videos are easy to follow and effectively highlighted the key ideas that are presented in this course. Thank you for creating this resource.

“Thoughtful & Necessary”

This course was originally used as a Bible Study at Church. It was very thought provoking, and hard hitting, but was very necessary. Unfortunately it has been forgotten by the majority of those who attended, I say with regret. I purchased the dvd for future reference for myself and wife, and as a reminder to those who completed the course, and those who did not see it through. A very worthy addition to our library.

The dvd came very promptly much to my delight. I had already used the course and just wanted my own copy of the leadership material.

In response to 'Disappointed' of 2011. Please others do NOT be influenced by this comment. For my money, Barry Cooper is 'right on the button'. I have a great regard for Rico Tice (although I feel that his first presentation of Christianity Explored was better than his second), but Barry Cooper is supreme in this Discipleship Explored DVD - I don't see any way that he could have been bettered by Rico, great as he is. I am delighted at the impact that Barry has made on my people.

“Very Good”

(Review written for 'Discipleship Explored DVD (PAL)')

I guess it will not be to everyone's taste. I was in a group of adults that used it as a follow-up to Alpha. I personally enjoyed it and found it very useful; just the right balance - not effusive or over the top evangelism.

I have only recently become a Christian and this DVD/material was very useful for me. Used in conjunction with other stuff it has certainly helped me along my journey. I think some of the questions might have been structure a little differently but they didn’t seem any worse or better than others I have read.

After having gone through Christianity Explored (which is excellent), Discipleship Explored is let down by it's presentation. Rico Tice is an excellent presenter, and it's a shame he did not present this course himself. What a difference it would have made.

“Feedback rated the course outstanding”

(Review written for 'Discipleship Explored DVD (PAL)')

The DVD talks were so concise, clear and focused that explorers came to each successive week brimming with confidence. That confidence translated into a real desire to undertake "The Week Ahead" home studies and allowed the development of a passion to understand AND apply what God was saying through Paul. The resultant commitment played out in vibrant group discussion. Most noticeably, recent converts (via CE) appeared to grow in spiritual maturity before table leaders eyes. That manifestation of God's sanctifying grace was both humbling and hugely encouraging to table leaders, members and church leadership alike. The group discussions, DVD talks and "The Week Ahead" Bible studies drew explorers into communion with God leaving a telling imprint on the lives of these believers.

“Excellent Resource”

I have used this DVD with a group of ladies on the fringe of our church. For me it has been invaluable. The talks are perfect in content, length and presentation. Barry Cooper is extremely engaging and easy to listen to (easy on the eye too - was the comment from one lady!) His life application style analysis of the passages were the perfect springboard for discussion. I would recommend this DVD to all.
