I love this series because the whole Bible is the story of God and his redeeming a sinful people to himself. Sometimes it's hard to spot the moments in the Old Testament that point us forward to who Jesus is and what he is going to do for his people. At this point we've read both Jonah and Esther and it did such a good job of helping the kids see Jesus. I do think that the Jonah story was maybe more of a contrast than a comparison (like the Esther story) but it still points to Jesus nonetheless. It ...is good practice to help kids want to look for those Jesus moments in other parts of Scripture and even just to see those moments in our daily lives as well.
I also suspect that there might be some adults who get a chance to make connections they hadn't seen before as well. So great for both kids and parents as they learn together. Looking forward to more like this!

Jesus Moments: Esther is a paraphrase of the biblical account for children, and it is one of the installments in the Jesus Moments series. Like the other books in the series, this one has children looking for an object throughout its pages so they can trace the Jesus Moments, or points in the story where the main character foreshadows Jesus.
In this book, children look for scrolls scattered throughout the story. Upon reading it, I knew that the book of Esther doesn’t mention God, so I was curious to see how it points to Jesus. Although this is a children’s book, it helped me understand how this biblical account points to Jesus and how Esther herself was a type of Christ. We love the Jesus Moments series and are so grateful to have this volume in our home library. I highly recommend this book for families and children’s ministries wanting to instill Bible literacy skills in their children early on.

I would highly recommend Jesus Moments: Esther. Finding Jesus in the Story of Esther. This book would be great in an elementary Sunday school room or even a homeschooling Bible class.
The book is geared towards younger children but you could easily adapt the study of Esther to middle school grades by adding on additional readings, especially from the Bible. Scripture references are noted on every page where there is a Jesus Moment.
