Delightful and diverse illustrations with easy rhymes for kids to learn about all the good things God has created our eyes to do, those things we ought not to do, and bringing it home to the most important thing - what Jesus has done for us. The focus on heart change over behavior change is something I think is important to discuss with kids and also greatly lacking in children’s literature. This is a great addition to the “Training Young Hearts” series and I love to see more gospel-centered books on the market for children.
I especially like this book on eyes because children so often think they aren’t doing anything wrong with rolling eyes, staring at people, or looking away from those who are sad. Since it’s not as physical as doing something with our hands or mouths, many sins with our eyes tend to be overlooked or downplayed, especially by children. This book brings those sins to light and points the child to right behavior based on what Jesus has done. I couldn’t love that more for our children!
I love the clear presentation of the gospel and also particularly love the last page where it states our faith is made sight. What a perfect way to end a book about eyes. Seeing our Savior face to face is something all believers can look forward to.
