Description

What will heaven be like? Answering this question for kids can be challenging, especially as it’s hard to get past the myths.

This beautifully illustrated, biblically faithful storybook by Joni Eareckson Tada excites children with this truth—that when Jesus comes back to this world, he will bring heaven with him! There will be a new creation where we’ll have new hearts and a new body, living in a new city. And best of all, we’ll be with Jesus, forever! It will be better than we can ever imagine.

Kids are encouraged to respond to Jesus’ invitation personally by repenting and believing. They will also be inspired to invite others, and to ask Jesus to come soon.

Joni Eareckson Tada was left quadriplegic after a diving accident and is now a global leader in disability advocacy who helps families with special needs around the world through her organisation, Joni and Friends.

The perfect book for helping any kids understand why eternity with Jesus is amazing, The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party can also be used alongside Goodbye to Goodbyes by Lauren Chandler to help children who are grieving the loss of a believing family member or friend.

To help kids grasp the concept and excitement of getting to spend forever with Jesus, why not host a "Fantastic Forever Party"? Download a FREE party guide with resources to help you organise a great party.

The title is long. The book is short. The author is Joni! Help your children (and grandchildren) long for the appearing of the Lord Jesus by reading them this book. Read like you mean it—the way Joni would.

Author of What Every Child Should Know About Prayer

This is one of the best children's books I've ever read about the best promise ever given, the promise of heaven coming to earth so that earth becomes heaven. Reading it makes me want to say, "Come quickly Lord Jesus!"

We have had many adventures as a family with Joni! But, as she so winsomely reminds us here, these are echoes of a greater party we are called to. How wonderful to have a book like this!

“Great Book to Celebrate the Hope of Heaven”

(Review written for 'The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party Storybook')

This is a great series illustrated by Catalina Echeverri and they seem to cover some of the topics that other children's books aren't frequently explaining. The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party is another unusual topic, this time explaining why heaven isn't just what we expect it to be (e.g. all the chocolate pancakes you could eat!). It tells us about our new hearts, our new bodies and being with Jesus. It shows us the joy we will feel in the new creation and the joy we should have now as we look forward to heaven!

“Love this”

(Review written for 'The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party Storybook')

Such a beautiful age-appropriate way to show children what scripture says about heaven, and what we really mean when we talk about heaven

“Amazing Book”

(Review written for 'The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party Storybook')

What an amazing book! It is filled with beautiful, emotive language, often verging on the poetic, written to explain to children what the Bible really says about heaven, rather than what they may see or hear from a world view.

There is also a great explanation of the gospel message in language that younger children will have no trouble in understanding. As well as being good for parents to read with their children, this would also be a very appropriate resource to use in schools of Sunday schools.

If this had been around when my children were small, I have a feeling it would have been a bedtime favourite!

It includes some awesome illustrations that help to highlight all that is described in the text.

“Whimsy, Fun and Faith-Filled!”

(Review written for 'The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party Storybook')

I found this picture book to be whimsy and doctrinally sound. There is nothing I desire more for my preschooler than for her to accept Jesus’ invitation to heaven through faith in Him as her Saviour. This vibrantly illustrated pictured book features a diverse set of people and animals as well as depictions of Jesus and heaven that spark the imagination. Author Joni Eareckson Tada is someone I have long admired and it is an honor to share about this book she has authored. She begins by talking about the greatest invitation of all time, the invitation Jesus has offered us to enter heaven and spend eternity with Him…She talks about what the Bible says heaven and the new Earth will be like, as well as the new hearts, minds and bodies that we will receive. It is a joyful celebration of what is to come for Christians, for eternity, and Tada likens it all to a giant party. She then prompts children to respond to Jesus’ invitation and encourages them to invite their friends, too. The book wraps up with our own invitations back to Jesus to come quickly. What an incredible, spiritually sound way to introduce the Gospel message into children’s hearts and minds! I definitely recommend this book. It would be an excellent addition to any child’s shelf, as well as to schools and libraries.

* I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of these books from The Good Book Company and Zonderkidz. All thoughts are my own.

“A truly wonderful book about Jesus, Heaven and accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.”

(Review written for 'The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party Storybook')

I recently had the pleasure of receiving a wonderful children’s book to read and review (with some help from Binky Bear) titled The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party written by Joni Eareckson Tada. This book, which is beautifully illustrated by Catalina Echeverri, is ‘a true story about Heaven, Jesus and the best invitation of all.’ This is a wonderful book for young children, but also one to be loved by people of all ages. I honestly feel that this is a book that needs to be on everyone’s bookshelves! It’s an easy-to-read and easy-to-follow book which will help children to fully understand what it means when Jesus returns. It will help them to deepen their faith, to know God’s truth, and to get ready and excited for the coming of Jesus.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14.

Overall, this is a truly wonderful book about Jesus, Heaven and accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. A lovely and engaging book for parents to share with their children, and to start them on their own journey of faith. There is also a free party guide to download to host your very own forever party. There’s a bunch of free downloads, including a host’s guide, colouring sheets, giant illustrations, fun activities to do and recipes. You can also claim 2 free bonuses when you pre-order the storybook. There is also the The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party Art and Activity Book that you can purchase which goes alongside the storybook. I really look forward to finding out more about Joni’s other books which, along with the book mentioned in this blog post, are all in a series of books titled Tales That Tell The Truth.

“Best book on eternal life!”

(Review written for 'The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party Storybook')

A brand new Tales from the Truth picture book for reading aloud and readers. I have reviewed other books about heaven and never felt like I had one I could embrace well. Well, that has changed!

Things I liked about the book:

Engaging opening: "Have you ever been invited?"
Defines the best invitations, "to unforgettable events with amazing people."
Jesus is connected to this teaching about Heaven so intimately, and who He is as our King and Rescuer is established clearly.
John 3:16 paraphrased as the invitation.
In true fashion for this series, myths of heaven are addressed and the Truth of the Bible is taught.
The illustrations enhance the descriptive language, and the celebratory tone of the book, and build connections for the reader.
Heaven is described well and with the Truth from the Bible- a place of no more sin as well as splendor and glory.

Things I wonder about the story:
Could there have been bible references on the footers or headers of pages that connected to the truth shared? (The author's letter at the end shares verses).
Is the connection between sin and eternal life clear enough? it's so well written with Truth, and I trust that those who will choose to share this book will also know the Truth.
I'm reviewing a pdf and I wonder if the little picture envelope at the end of the book is just an image or if it is an envelope that opens?
thankful to partner with the goodbook company and read an early copy.

“Awesome!”

(Review written for 'The Awesome Super Fantastic Forever Party Storybook')

I've always enjoyed the books written by and about Joni Eareckson Tada so to say the least, I was excited for this new children's book from her. This is part of the Tales That Tell The Truth series from The Good Book Company.

The concept of the story revolves around the free invitation we have received from Christ to join Him in Eternity. Tada displays the truth about what Heaven will be like and encourages us to look forward to the amazing party.

I think she does a great job of describing the beauty, the wonder, the freedom, the joy of Heaven. Although we cannot fully comprehend the perfection of Heaven, God has given us glimpses that should give us hope each day for what's to come.

My only dissatisfaction is that Tada didn't include scripture references throughout the book as she describes what Scripture does tell us about heaven. It would have been wonderful even if the scripture references were simply noted at the bottom of the page for families to look up on their own.

Of course the illustrations are phenomenal and engaging throughout.

It's a wonderful, fun book to teach young children about the glory of Heaven.

I received a copy of this book from The Good Book Company in exchange for an honest review.
