Help kids ages 3+ to understand the story of the gospel and apply it to their lives in a way that suits their age and stage.
Part of the Training Young Hearts series.
Empower kids aged 3+ to connect the gospel to their own actions, attitudes and perspective! From creation and fall to redemption, sanctification and glorification, this colourful rhyming storybook captures the beauty of the gospel message through simple, practical rhyming language and illustrations that children will love to engage with.
Focusing on the way they use their eyes, Abbey Wedgeworth helps children to see with God’s view of them, others and the world around them, and to look forward to a future when believers will see Jesus face to face and be made perfect with him for ever!
They’ll also see that when their eyes don’t do what they should (like when they roll with disrespect or look down on others), they can look to Jesus as the perfect example, ask God for forgiveness when they mess up, and receive the help of the Holy Spirit as they use their eyes for God's glory instead!
With bright illustrations and fun rhymes, this storybook will inspire and equip your children to follow Jesus in word and deed.
Your Incredible Eyes is part of the Training Young Hearts series, which encourages children towards gospel-centred, grace-fuelled obedience. The lift-the-flap board books for toddlers focus on specific behaviours while the rhyming storybooks help kids aged 3+ to understand the gospel and apply it to their lives in a way that suits their age and stage.

The Training Young Hearts series is a favorite in our family. Abbey Wedgeworth packages big truths in bite-sized, understandable refrains that impact the hearts of children and their parents!
I am incredibly excited about these new books from Abbey Wedgeworth. Engaging, helpful, and full of truth, these books are sure to become a favorite in your home!
One of the most important ways we can train young children is to teach them what is right as well as teach them what is wrong. In the Training Young Hearts series Abbey Wedgeworth faithfully shows children how to live while also telling them the good news of God’s grace. These board books are such an engaging (and fun!) way to teach big truths to young hearts.
Delightful and diverse illustrations with easy rhymes for kids to learn about all the good things God has created our eyes to do, those things we ought not to do, and bringing it home to the most important thing - what Jesus has done for us. The focus on heart change over behavior change is something I think is important to discuss with kids and also greatly lacking in children’s literature. This is a great addition to the “Training Young Hearts” series and I love to see more gospel-centered books on the market for children.
I especially like this book on eyes because children so often think they aren’t doing anything wrong with rolling eyes, staring at people, or looking away from those who are sad. Since it’s not as physical as doing something with our hands or mouths, many sins with our eyes tend to be overlooked or downplayed, especially by children. This book brings those sins to light and points the child to right behavior based on what Jesus has done. I couldn’t love that more for our children!
I love the clear presentation of the gospel and also particularly love the last page where it states our faith is made sight. What a perfect way to end a book about eyes. Seeing our Savior face to face is something all believers can look forward to.

This book is beautifully illustrated! There is also an interesting feature where certain words are bolded throughout the text. I don’t know if this is the purpose, but parents could easily use those as markers to include some movement while reading this book to their children and increase engagement. The way Wedgeworth lays out the Gospel is simple, but accurate. But my favorite part is how the book is laid out. The first part of the story engages children by talking about their eyes and the good and bad things that they do. The second part talks about Jesus and the Gospel, using familiar language about eyes to relay that story. The third part tells children about how their eyes can be used for God after they trust in Jesus. It’s a wonderful format and the rhyming aspect adds an extra fun layer to an already engaging book.
I absolutely love this book and I want the others in this series as well! If you have littles and are looking for a fun way to encourage good behavior and tell the Gospel story at the same time, Your Incredible Eyes is worth checking out.
This is such a good book for kids! A fun way to teach about sight and God at the same time.
I love how it uses your sense of sight to point to Jesus, and learn how to use our eyes for good. The descriptions, the examples. All were a great addition.
And the pictures? So cute, and so perfect. They really help explain the words perfectly, and are great for kids!
Overall, a great addition to this series, and a good focus on using your sight for God. One book we’re going to enjoy reading for a long while.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, received from The Good Book Company. However, all thoughts and views reflected are strictly my own opinions.
My 6-year-old daughter always looks forward to new ones in this series. They are fun rhyming books with adorable illustrations. They are enjoyable to read aloud and filled with gospel truths. Your little ones will learn how they can use all their body parts to honor God!
Your eyes can blink, squint, wink and squeeze shut! They can also shed tears when you’re sad or hunt for beauty in the sky. These are all good things, but we have to be careful because we can also use our eyes to sin- like glare or roll our eyes. And that’s why we need Jesus!
Kids will see that they need Jesus to use their eyes in the way God intended! “When you trust him, his Spirit comes to live inside you! To help you see how he sees and do what he’d do.”
These short, simple and sweet stories are perfect for young children (4+). You’ll want to add these to your home libraries to read again and again!

This series has been incredible, and this book is so great. I love being able to read this to my children as a reminder of who God has created them to be. Your Incredible Eyes has beautiful pictures and my 4, 3 and 1 year old are always asking to read it again.
We absolutely love this series! From the sturdy board books to these longer picture storybooks, each one speaks deep gospel truth in simple language. Each book is written in an engaging rhythmic pattern that’s easy to follow and communicates deep truths. I love the way it has equipped me with consistent biblical language to use in training my children in the ways of Jesus.
This newest release highlights the forgiveness of Jesus, and how our eyes were made by God to look to Him for both forgiveness and help to live like Jesus. The illustrations give young children the chance to see themselves on pages or consider other types of people that God created.
Highly recommend!
Thank you to the publisher for a complimentary copy of this book!
This is an abridged version of my full review, which is available at: https://www.lifeisstory.com/childrens-books/your-incredible-eyes-a-training-young-hearts-rhyming-book-abbey-wedgeworth-and-emma-randall/
In this new installment in the Training Young Hearts series, Abbey Wedgeworth teaches preschool-aged kids to appreciate what God created our eyes to do, such as seeing the world around us and expressing our feelings. Then she explains that even though God created our eyes and said they were good, we sometimes use our eyes in sinful ways. She gives a variety of age-appropriate examples, such as looking down on others, rolling our eyes, staring at people who need privacy, and looking away from people in need.
After this, Wedgeworth introduces the gospel, explaining that God sent Jesus to our broken world to solve this problem. She describes how Jesus saw people's needs and empathized with them, died to forgive our sins, and rose again. Then she explains that the Holy Spirit can live inside us to help us become more like Jesus. Wedgeworth explains each concept in kid-friendly terms, making these big ideas accessible without talking down to her audience.
Potential buyers should know that the board book edition and the picture book are not interchangeable. The board book is significantly shorter, and it includes a lift-the-flap feature, which the picture book does not have. The picture book is longer and more detailed, includes age-appropriate examples for preschoolers instead of toddlers, and shares additional truths about Jesus.
This book is ideal for parents to use with their children, and it will also be great for many churches and Christian schools. I would recommend this to people who have found the board books helpful with younger children, and to people who are brand new to the series.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
“When God made our eyes, he said they were good! But because of our sin, they don’t do what they should.”
In the newest installment, of the Training Young Hearts series, Abbey Wedgeworth helps parents to teach their children about God’s purpose for their eyes and how our sin can affect God’s good design. She always points back to the truth of the gospel, that Jesus was human, but always did what was right and that he died for us so that we could have forgiveness and hope even when we sin.
“Of course, sometimes you’ll fail. And whenever you do, close your eyes and confess - there’s forgiveness for you!”
I love the hope of the gospel in these books! They are filled with excellent training refrains to help you teach your children to love like Jesus loves. My 3 year old especially enjoys this series and we talk about it regularly during behavior moments. This is a great resource to add to your home or church library!
“This hope helps us do all he says is right, till that incredible day when our faith is made sight.”
I received Your Incredible Eyes compliments of The Good Book Company in exchange for my honest review.
Your Incredible Eyes is the latest title in the A Training Young Hearts Rhyming Book by Abbey Wedgeworth. This book is an extended version of the board book, What Are Eyes For? Your Incredible Eyes helps children understand that sight is an incredible gift from God, yet we fall short even with our eyes as we use them for sinful rather than righteous pursuits. Some examples of this included in the book are eye rolling, glaring, and staring at others who look different.
This book includes a simple gospel presentation and points to the hope we have in Jesus. Like the other books in the series, it includes all members of the trinity and features lovely, captivating illustrations. We LOVE this series, and I highly recommend Your Incredible Eyes!
I’m a big fan of Abbey Wedgeworth! This beautiful new book, Your Incredible Eyes, gently points little hearts (and ours) to the truth — that Jesus came to redeem even our sight. To help us look for what’s good, true, and lovely again.
It’s the third in the series of the ‘Training Young Hearts Rhyming books’ series and is another gospel filled, Christ Centered, redemptive story about how God created us to use different parts of our bodies for good and his glory, yet how we fall short. Ultimately it points to Jesus as the one who restores our eyes and is the ultimate example of how they should be used! It's rhyming text and vibrant illustrations help make it memorable, enjoyable and appealing to young children.
I love this series and I'm so excited for this third edition, I fully recommend it to all!
